Book Buying Habits Tag

Hey everyone,

This week I have decided to do the ‘Book Buying Habits Tag’ found here.

WHERE DO YOU BUY YOUR BOOKS?

I mainly shop at Kmart or Big W. Sometimes I will shop at Booktopia or Book Depository. Just depends where I feel like. Sometimes I will go to some independent bookstores and see their variety. I used to shop at Dymocks but my local one closed down so I don’t shop there anymore.

DO YOU EVER PREORDER BOOKS AND IF SO, DO YOU DO THIS IN STORE OR ONLINE?

I never have.

ON AVERAGE, HOW MANY BOOKS DO YOU BUY A MONTH?

Probably between 5-18 books a month.

DO YOU USE YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY?

No I don’t. I hardly go there anymore. I used to read avidly when I was a kid and got all my books from there but as I grew older, I like having a personal library.

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON LIBRARY BOOKS?

I don’t really have an opinion. Good on you if you do, I just don’t.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT CHARITY SHOPS/SECOND-HAND BOOKS?

I think it is a fantastic way to get books. A lot of mine are second hand.

DO YOU KEEP YOUR READ AND TBR PILE TOGETHER/ON THE SAME BOOKSHELF OR NOT?

Yeah I do. I don’t have enough space to keep them separate.

DO YOU PLAN TO READ ALL THE BOOKS YOU OWN?

Of course. That’s the whole idea of owning a personal library. Whether I get t it tomorrow or in five years is another story.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH BOOKS YOU OWN THAT YOU FEEL YOU’LL NEVER READ/FELT YOU DIDN’T ENJOY?

I donate them to my local independent bookstore.

HAVE YOU EVER DONATED BOOKS?

Yes I have.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ON A BOOK-BUYING BAN?

Nah, I never have. I don’t place that on myself. If I want it, I get it with my own money.

DO YOU FEEL THAT YOU BUY TOO MANY BOOKS?

Aha, no. I love having my own little library filled with books I need to read.
